Olympic Torch Relay 1936-Olympia 20-06-1936

1936 was the first year the olympic torch run was instituted. 

The olympic flame was lit  in Olympia, Greece on July 20, 1936 and was carried from thence to Berlin, Germany where it arrived on July 27, 1936. This is a registered cover posted on the day the flame was lit with  special cancel.

WINTER OLYMPICS COVERS FROM MY COLLECTION


This is a postcard is advertising the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games.

It is dated Sept.9,2011 and cancelled in Ufa with special olympic postmark.

This postcard advertises winter sports competitions held in Chamonix, France in January, 1924.The International Olympic Committee retroactively recognised it as the first winter olympics games to be held.


Canada's "Flying Dutchmen" won the ice hockey gold medal during the 1956 Cortina ( Italy ) winter olympic games. Kithener and Waterloo , both in Ontario province was the home of this amateur team.


This is a registered cover posted in Calgary during the 1988 winter Olympics.

The enveloppe used is an official Organising Committe enveloppe, and the logo is that of the Olympic Arts Festival.


This cover was posted from Vancouver during the 2010 Winter Olympics to China, with arrival postmark in the back.

It celebrates the victory of Wang Meng, China, in short track speed skating.

These 2 covers have printed postal stationary stamps. They were sent from North Korea,and they are commemorating the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics

This is a registered cover  dated August 3, 2011  from PyeongChang South Korea. It commemorates this city's winning bid to host the 2018 Winter Olympics Games.
